Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter Weekend. Earlier in the week we made some sugar cookies that we ate up too fast.

Dawson enjoying his sugar cookies!

Then Friday night we colored some eggs with Dawson. I love coloring Easter eggs! Dawson just wanted to eat the eggs! He would try to fit the whole egg into his mouth, but his teeth kept getting in the way!! So then he would take the egg and bang it against his teeth. We're lucky we didn't have a bunch of cracked eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide!

Saturday morning the Easter Bunny came and hid the eggs for Dawson and Dad to find. Dawson had no clue what was going on. Luckily, the Easter Bunny made a few of the eggs a challenge for Dad to find though.

Dawson wondering what in the world is going on!

Dawson and his easter basket of toys and candy for mom to eat for the next week!!

Dawson and his egg!

Then after our little easter egg hunt, we headed down to Twin Falls to go to a Cousin Easter Egg hunt at Uncle Paul and Aunt Michelle's house. The kids did a great job of finding the all the eggs in under 2 minutes!! Again, Dawson was more interested in eating the eggs than looking for them. We had a great time and here are some pictures from the hunt.

Dawson's cousins, Ambree and Adarah, had the cutest bunny ear headbands on and lucky for us, Adarah handed hers off to me, so we snapped this fun picture!! It was a fun easter egg hunt!!

Saturday evening we also got to go to a suprise anniversary party for my great aunt and uncle, Gale and Lois Roberts. They have been married for 65 years!! It's neat to see their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. It's times like this that really makes me realize what true success is in life. A happy, close family full of love, what could be better than that? We also went out to Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Molyneux's house for awhile since my 3 aunts where there for the weekend. It was just nice to sit around and talk with them. I don't know why, but Dawson was walking a ton at their house! About a month or so ago, he started taking some steps and we thought he was going to start walking soon, but then all of sudden he couldn't have cared less about walking. For some reason he wanted to walk for Great Grandma I guess! And once again he's back to not even caring!

Sunday my cousin Wyatt spoke in Sacrament meeting since he's leaving on his mission to Sydney Australia on April 2nd. He talked about repentance and it was a great topic for Easter and how important it is to repent. We are so blessed because of the Atonement and Resurrection of our Savior. We are excited for Wyatt and know that he will be an wonderful example of the Savior as he serves the people of Australia!

We had a jammed-packed weekend, full of family and friends and good times!! I'm sure it will only get better next year, when Dawson at least tries to look for an egg to eat!

My favorite picture of them all would have to be the bunny ears. That just screams Megan to me! And your little one is so freaking cute. And for the record, Cora is 3and still has not yet learned the competitive nature of Easter egg hunting. She will find one egg and stop to open it and consume the insides while all the other children are snagging the rest of the eggs. Good times though!

phew! What a weekend! Have you recovered yet? We are really glad you could come and visit with us for a little while. Thanks for the recipe, we tried it last night, and it's probably the one I'll take.... the kids scarfed it!

It looks like you guys had a great Easter! We keep missing each other at the family get-togethers. One of these times we are going to have to attend a family function at the same time so I can give that adorable little boy of yours lots of hugs and kisses. He is just too cute!
